- China Visa Update (more
documents needed effective 8/1/2012)
We were just notified yesterday (7/24/2012) that effective
on 8/1/2012, the Chinese Consulate in NY and Embassy in DC will require many more
documents for travel visa applications, such as copy of hotel reservations and flight
itinerary, or invitation letter by relative
in China and copy of ID of such relative in China. More information is
at
http://newyork.china-consulate.org/eng/lsyw/lszjx/sbqz/hcv/
If you need a visa to China soon, applying for it before 8/1/2012 would definitely
be easier. Visa applications submitted to Julia Chou (jchou@mlccc.org)
by the morning of this Friday 7/27 will make it into the Embassy before 8/1/2012.
- $5 Indoor Tennis Lessons
for our Wayne Campers
Duration:
45-minute lessons
Cost: $5 for our campers ($8 for
non-campers)
Place: our Wayne camp site
Days: every Mondays, Thursdays,
and Fridays

- Registering for Chinese
Weekend School – Save $30 if send in tuition payment by 8/8/2012
Even though it is still in the middle of summer, we
need to start planning for our Chinese Weekend School, start renting classrooms
from GVHS, etc. This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for early registration
(and save $30) is right around the corner. Complete the registration (i.e. select classes and postmark the tuition payment)
before the
8/8/12 deadline and your $30
registration fee will be waived.
For Early Bird families, please help us plan by selecting your classes.
Our strongly preferred method of registration
and class selection is to do it online,
at
http://www.mlccc.org/reg/signon.html.
After registering online, please mail in your registration summary and tuition to
us by 8/8/2012. You will incur a $30/family registration
fee if you do not mail in the tuition payment by 8/8/2012. If you did
Early Bird registration in April, the online system will reflect your 10% Early
Bird discount but it does not capture your $50/child Early Bird deposit. Please
deduct your $50/child deposit from the tuition due, then mail in your payment.
Some new classes are:
"Dance for Beginners"
"MATHCOUNTS"
"Chinese: Creative Learning for Preschoolers"
"Introduction to Sinology"
"Chinese Musical instrument/Band"
Looking forward to seeing you in September!
Best Regards,
Li, Xia - Principal
Julia Chou - Director of Operations and Communications
Sherry Wang - PTO President
