MLCCC Chinese Language and Culture Summer Camp in Philadelphia, PA
The MLCCC Chinese Language and Culture Summer Camp in Philadelphia is designed to
teach children (ages 4-12) Chinese language skills and cultural knowledge in a hands-on,
fun, and active environment. Prior knowledge of Chinese is not necessary.
Our camp is located at
Girard College
(map),
near the Philadelphia Zoo, in Philadelphia, PA. It runs from June 28, 2010 to Aug
13, 2010 for a total of 7 weeks. Each week has a different theme and campers explore
the Chinese language and culture surrounding that theme. At the end of each week
(Friday), you will be invited to come and see what your children have learned and
accomplished during the week. The 2010 themes are (from week 1 to week 7): Chinese
Dragon, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese Food - Yum!, Chinese
Holidays, Stories of the Great Wall, and Treasure of China - Panda.
Around each theme, we build in lessons in Chinese language and culture, games, projects
and crafts. Additionally, we also offer "Special" classes several times a week,
namely Martial Arts and traditional Chinese Dance. Furthermore, we value the importance
of exercise and being active by incorporating Chinese exercises and outdoor activities
daily in our program, plus Physical Education several times a week. Please see a
