"China Learning Program" at the Russell Byers Charter School
Sunday, May 16th, 2009
To provide a Chinese language and culture learning experience to center city children,
the MLCCC partnered with the well-known Russell Byers Charter School to conduct
three learning classes over a 12-session program on Saturdays. Nearly 30 students
participated in this course offering.
The Russell Byers Charter School, a public elementary school located in the heart
of Center City Philadelphia at 1911 Arch Street, opened for its eighth year on August
26, 2008 with 400 students from 37 neighborhoods. As one can see from the attached
link, many Philadelphians like Mayor Nutter are investing their time with this school

On May 22nd, the MLCCC was asked to participate in the school's Celebration
of Learning event as well. Based upon client feedback, the school will partner with
the MLCCC to offer a follow-up program during the fall of 2009.
