MLCCC is launching its third after school program
at Girard College

The MLCCC is continuing to share China's valuable culture and language with interested
Greater Philadelphia families. On this coming Saturday, the Center will be launching
another program at
Girard College, which
is a boarding school located in Philadelphia. The school is for academically capable
students, grades 1 through 12, and grants full scholarships to eligible students
from families with limited financial resources.
MLCCC has been approved for a $100,000 federal grant

We have just been informed that President Obama has just signed a bill which led
to the approval of a $100,000 federal grant for MLCCC to expand our program at the
Russell Byers Charter School (RBSC)! MLCCC has been conducting a Saturday program
at the RBCS in Philadelphia since the 2008-2009 school year. This outreach program
has enabled us to teach Chinese language and culture to more than 50 inner city
kids who otherwise would have little opportunity for such global exposure.
